STUDENTS OF NERINA SIMI, the Last Supper Stazzemese

The municipality of Camaiore, in collaboration with the Soroptimist Club of Italy Club Viareggio Versilia, and the cultural circle of Berlingaio House, with the support of the Cooperative Credit Bank of Versilia, is organizing the exhibition "STUDENTS OF NERINA SIMI. THE LAST SUPPER Stazzemese. " Event that winds through La Casa del Berlingaio in the district capital and the Palace of Culture in Camaiore located in the village of Cardoso in the period between July 12 and August 17, 2014. This exhibition has the intent to exploit one of the figures more important that throughout history have made our region famous, the artist Nerina Simi, Simi daughter of the great Philadelphus.

At the palace of culture will be exhibited paintings by thirty artists from different nationalities, students of the school who has direct Nerina Simi in Florence between the Sixties and Seventies, the students themselves have now become internationally known that, in the school established by Philadelphus Florence, in Tripoli, were able to learn the techniques of painting by Nerina that, after the death of his father in 1923, he managed with love and recognized professional until his death in 1987.

At the same time Stazzema at the House of Berlingaio will be exhibited some paintings of the same Philadelphus of Nerina Simi Simi Simi Renzo Pietro Annigoni, Mario Parri, Leo Tommasi, Bertellotti Hugo and The Pittorino (David Bueno de Mesquita Abrham). Artists at different levels have characterized the history of the local and national level and in the first decades of the 900 would meet in the town of Camaiore attracted by the personality of family members Simi, who used to spend days of rest and work in the country set in the mountains of the Apuan Alps, in their home studio in the company of friends and students giving rise to the "salon Stazzemese."

As a result of the project "Toponymy female" Soroptimist Club of Viareggio Versilia, on 12 July morning will be a square in Camaiore entitled to Nerina Simi. In the afternoon, at 17, there will be the opening of the exhibition at the Palace of Culture in Camaiore.

Many artists from various parts of the world; England, Ireland, USA, New Zealand, Holland, Florence, will be present at the inauguration, returning to the land "ideal classroom" Simi and inspiring family, to pay homage to this beloved teacher, "one of the most significant Italian painters of this century, " such as recalls his friend and admirer, Peter Annigoni.

For the new administration this exhibition is a starting point, and arguably marks an important turning point in the cultural policies that have as their aim the renewal and growth towards a more vividly and cultural participation in our territory.

To accompany the exhibition were created two catalogs that collect all the material in the show, and that includes an authoritative overview of essays by historians of professionals and industry experts.
